Living near Manchester Airport, the engineering lecturer said it was left by holidaymakers.

Zekarias, who lives in the house with his wife and two children, said his family’s access to their garden and bins was restricted.

But when he called the police, he was told it wasn’t a criminal offence.

Zekarias’ car was parked on the road at the time and wasn’t blocked in which meant the police couldn’t do anything.

He told the Manchester Evening News : “I was very angry but I resisted doing anything to the car – just.

“I definitely didn’t feel all right about it.

“We couldn’t access our garden and we couldn’t take out our bins.”

Having lived in the Wythenshawe area for 14 years, the family were aware of rogue parking companies operating around there.

Zekarias believes the Range Rover was left by someone using the company due to the airport’s expensive parking charges.

He added: “A lady who was out the front when it was left told me the driver was wearing a high-viz jacket so I do believe it was one of those companies.”

Claiming it’s a “violation” Zekarias is worried it won’t be long until it happens again.

A spokesperson for Manchester Airport said: “As well as our own wide range of products, there are many reputable operators that serve Manchester Airport.

“We categorically do not condone the practices of rogue operators, including those that falsely imply customers’ cars will be parked in secure locations and whose activities blight surrounding communities.

“We have worked closely with council trading standards teams and Greater Manchester Police over many years to combat this, and speak regularly with local councillors and residents about their concerns.

“As passenger numbers continue to increase in the wake of the pandemic we will maintain our position on this, working closely with Manchester City Council and Greater Manchester Police.”

The Sun Online has contacted Greater Manchester Police.

Is it legal to park on someone else’s drive?

According to Confused.com: “If someone parks on your driveway, then they’re trespassing, so it’s a civil matter rather than a criminal offence.

“This means the police don’t usually get involved.

“If you’re lucky, the police may ask the driver to move their car, provided they can find the owner.”
