Jan. 3, 2022, Monday: Last day to affiliate with a major or minor party in order to run as a party candidate in the primary (either through nomination or petition).

Jan. 3, 2022, Monday: Last day to register as unaffiliated, in order to be placed in nomination (by petition) as an unaffiliated candidate.

Jan. 18, 2022, Tuesday: First day to circulate major party candidate petitions for the Primary Election (Third Tuesday in January). March 15, 2022, Tuesday: Last day to file major party candidate petitions for the Primary.

Feb. 7, 2022, Monday: First day to circulate minor party candidate petitions. (First Monday in February)  April 4, 2022, Monday: Last day to file minor party candidate petitions. (No later than 85 days before primary election)

Feb. 7, 2022, Monday: Last day to affiliate with the Republican Party in order to vote in the March 1 Party Precinct Caucuses. (22 days before)

Feb. 11, 2022, Friday: Last day to affiliate with the Democratic Party in order to vote in the March 5 Party Precinct Caucuses. (22 days before)

Feb. 7, 2022, Monday: Last day to update your voter registration address to participate in the March 1 Republican Party Precinct Caucuses. (Must be a resident of the precinct for 22 days and registered to vote no later than 22 days before the precinct caucus)

Feb. 11, 2022, Friday: Last day to update your voter registration address to participate in the March 5 Democratic Party Precinct Caucuses. (Must be a resident of the precinct for 22 days and registered to vote no later than 22 days before the precinct caucus)

March 1, 2022, Tuesday: Republican Party Precinct Caucus Day 7:00 p.m.

March 5, 2022, Saturday: Democratic Party Precinct Caucus Day 10:00 a.m.

April 22, 2022, Friday: Last day a write-in candidate may file an Affidavit of Intent for the June 28 Primary Election. (By close of business on the 67th day before the primary)

April 29, 2022, Friday: Last day for an unaffiliated voter to give notice in writing to the county clerk that he or she wishes to serve as an election judge for the June 28 Primary Election. (No later than 60 days before primary election)

May 19, 2022, Thursday: First day an unaffiliated candidate may circulate or obtain signatures on a petition for nomination for the General Election. (An unaffiliated candidate may not circulate a petition or gather signatures earlier than 173 days before the General Election) Last day to file is July 14, 2022.
(No later than 3:00 p.m. on the 117th day before the 2022 General Election)

June 6, 2022, Monday: Last day for voters who are affiliated with a political party to change or withdraw their affiliation if they wish to vote in a different party’s state primary election (Up to and including the 22nd day before the Primary Election or day after if 22nd day is a holiday)

June 6 – June 10, 2022: Mail delivery ballots will be sent for the State Primary Election (Not sooner than 22 days before the Primary Election)

June 20, 2022, Monday: Last day for an individual to submit a voter registration application and still receive a ballot in the mail. (Through the eighth day before an election)

June 25, 2022, Saturday: Clerk and Recorder’s Office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for replacement ballots, receipt of ballots or to register to vote.

June 28, 2022, Tuesday: PRIMARY ELECTION (Ballots can be dropped off at the Logan County Courthouse 315 Main Street Suite 3, Sterling, CO or in the 24/7 Drop box located in the parking lot east side 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.)

July 14, 2022, Thursday: Last day to file an unaffiliated candidate nomination petition. (No later than 3:00 p.m. on the 117th day before the General 2022 Election)

July 21, 2022, Thursday: Last day for a write-in candidate to file an Affidavit of Intent for the 2022 General Election. (By the close of business on the 110th day before the 2022 General Election)

July 29, 2022, Friday: Last day for a political subdivision to notify the county clerk in writing that it has taken formal action to participate in the 2022 General Election. (100 days before the 2022 General Election)

Oct. 17– Oct.21, 2022: Mail delivery ballots will be sent for the General Election (Not sooner than 22 days before the election)

Oct. 17, 2022, Monday: Last day to submit an application to register to vote through a voter registration drive. (No later than 22 days before the election)

Oct. 31, 2022, Monday: Last day to submit a voter registration application and still receive a ballot in the mail. (Through eight days before the election)

Nov. 5, 2022, Saturday: Clerk and Recorder’s Office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for replacement ballots, receipt of ballots or to register to vote.

Logan County Offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, for the New Year’s holiday to allow our employees time to spend with their families.
