The general election is Nov. 8, 2022, but there are other key dates related to upcoming elections, according to the Alabama secretary of state’s website.
Jan. 28, 2022 — Candidates seeking nominations by a party primary must declare candidacy with their state or county party chairman by 5 p.m., 116 days before the election.
March 3, 2022 — County party chairpersons must certify names of primary candidates to the probate judge, 82 days before the election.
March 11, 2022 — Secretary of State must certify names of opposed candidates for federal or state offices, 74 days before the election.
May 24, 2022 — Primary election
June 21, 2022 — Primary runoff
