National Hurricane Center issuing advisories for Potential Cyclone 7

red is on the move as a storm is projected to bring a high flood threat to south florida. And there’s another area of concern. The next system to watch already brewing in the atlantic a lot going on. Good afternoon. I’m Aaron Guy and I’m Tiffany Kenny. Thank you for joining us for WPBF 25 news at noon first morning meteorologist Chris Martinez has the latest advisory just issued on both of these systems and lets us know how fred is going to impact our weekend. Chris still looking at scattered showers for its to weak this morning again and it continues to be a weak system out there as it’s just producing some scattered showers in through CUBA and north of that area. Latest advisory showing wind still down to 35 MPH. So we’re still talking about depression fred And as we go through the next 24 hours, there could be a little bit of strengthening from what we’re seeing now. In fact yesterday, hurricane center said that fred should be a tropical depression by now. But as you can see it is still weak, but as it does move into the open waters closer to the Keys as we go through tonight until first part of saturday, it does have a little room to get a little bit stronger but not much and then eventually make a landfall from Pensacola back towards Tallahassee as we get towards the weekend. That is fred. Then we got to turn our attention to this a new system which has been deemed a potential tropical cyclone number seven. What will be grace? You can see this area of low pressure here hurricane center now issuing a future track with this. This one bears watching over the next few days. You can see again taking a pass similar to fred over the lesser antilles, through parts of Puerto rico, the D. R. And then you can see the latter part of that future track shows that getting in towards the Bahamas and a little too close for comfort in south florida. But again it’s just forming. We have some time to watch it and a lot can change from now until next weekend But to reiterate the fact that we’ve got to deal with some flooding potential as we head through the weekend. Again, bouts of periods of heavy downpours here across the South Florida. Look at the rainfall totals on already saturated grounds. This is only going to mean that we got a high flood threat as we take you through Saturday and a part of Sunday some of the future track showing anywhere between three up to 5″ of rain before the system is all set in.
