WASHINGTONâPresident Donald Trump welcomed the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan on Aug. 8 to the White House, overseeing the signing of a joint declaration that seeks to end nearly four decades of hostility between the two nations.
âItâs been a long timeâ35 years they foughtâand now theyâre friends, and theyâre going to be friends for a long time,â Trump said, seated between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the State Dining Room.
