Biden, Who Boasted SCOTUS Ruling ‘Didn’t Stop’ His Student Loan Scheme, Touts Respect for Presidential ‘Limits’

Addressing the nation on Monday, President Joe Biden assured the American public that he would “respect the limits of the presidential powers.” Just weeks ago, he boasted that the Supreme Court “didn’t stop” his student loan forgiveness plan that was ruled unconstitutional.

Biden’s remarks followed the High Court’s ruling on Monday that presidents have immunity against criminal charges for “official acts” within their constitutional authority.

“It’s a dangerous precedent because the power of the office will no longer constrained by the law, even including the Supreme Court of the United States,” Biden said. “You also face moments where you need the wisdom to respect the limits of the power of the office of the presidency.”

Biden, however, has continuously bragged about defying the law of the land regarding his Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) plan, which is meant to transfer the responsibility of individual student loans to the American public.

“The Supreme Court tried to block me from relieving student debt. But they didn’t stop me,” Biden posted on May 29. On Feb. 22, he reiterated that the Supreme Court couldn’t stop him from canceling student debt.

The Wall Street Journal editorial board came out against the 81-year-old president’s disregard for the law in February.

“Worst of all is Mr. Biden’s blatant rejection of the law, even after the Supreme Court called him out. Is it any wonder that GOP voters don’t take Democratic alarms about losing democracy seriously? Mr. Biden doesn’t take his own warnings seriously,” the editorial board wrote.
