Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said he had a positive bilateral meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on Oct. 26 and that the two nations’ teams will meet again “immediately” to find a solution on U.S. tariffs and sanctions.
The two leaders met on the sidelines of the 47th Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Oct. 26 to cool tensions between Washington and Brasília after Trump recently moved to implement 50 percent tariffs on Brazil earlier this year.
