DHS Shutdown Ties for the Longest in History

The partial shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) tied for the longest shutdown in U.S. history on March 28.

DHS has been shut down for 43 days, which is the same number of days that the U.S. government was shut down in the fall of 2025.
