New York City Mayor Eric Adams dropped out of this year’s mayoral race on Sept. 28, citing mounting pressure that makes it difficult to continue his campaign.
Adams, a Democrat, made the announcement in a video statement posted to X Sunday afternoon, where he warned “extremism is growing in our politics” and indicated that he lacked the funds to remain in the race.
