House Passes Appropriations Bills for State, Treasury Departments

The U.S. House on Wednesday passed a package of appropriations bills to fund the government as Congress works to rapidly pass full-year appropriations bills ahead of the pending Jan. 30 government funding deadline.

The two-bill measure passed in a 341–79 vote after lawmakers rejected two amendments offered by conservative members.
