Trump has filed a motion based on presidential immunity.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Braggâs office has agreed to postpone sentencing for President-elect Donald Trump in his business records case.
A Nov. 19 letter to New York Justice Juan Merchan showed Bragg stating that his office believed âfurther proceedings before this Court should be adjourned to permit litigationâ surrounding Trumpâs motion to dismiss.
Sentencing was scheduled for Nov. 26. Trump had asked the court to throw out the verdict and indictment based on presidential immunity with an expected decision earlier this month. Merchan, however, postponed a decision on that motion after Trumpâs election.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
