Several members of the U.S. House of Representatives who support legislation to ban themselves from trading equities on the stock market have suggested that the bill may not be enacted due to opposition from the Senate and House leadership.
The members expressed such hesitation after a hearing of the House Administration Committee on Nov. 19, where a bill—the Restore Trust in Congress Act—was discussed.
