NEW YORK CITY—President Donald Trump will take the international stage this week to address the U.N. General Assembly on Sept. 23 in New York City. The question of Palestinian statehood is expected to dominate this year’s meeting, with world leaders closely watching Trump’s speech given his opposition to the proposal.
On Sept. 21, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and Portugal announced that they will formally recognize Palestinian statehood, joining nearly 150 countries that already have done so.
