President Donald Trump has said he would fire Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell if he refuses to leave office when his term ends next month.
Despite the Fed chief’s term expiring on May 15, Powell told reporters last month that he would stay on as chair until his successor, former Fed Governor Kevin Warsh, is confirmed.
