Trump’s View on Venezuelan Opposition Leader Machado Remains Unchanged: White House

WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump previously raised concerns about Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado’s prospects of becoming the leader of Venezuela, and that view remains the same, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Jan. 15.

Leavitt’s remarks came as Trump was hosting Machado, the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, for a lunch meeting at the White House.
