Vance Says Trump Hasn’t Ruled out Invoking Insurrection Act

Vice President JD Vance said during an interview on Oct. 12 that President Donald Trump is not opposed to invoking the Insurrection Act, which would allow the president to deploy the military to prevent domestic unrest on U.S. soil.

In an interview with NBC News, Vance was asked about whether Trump was looking into invoking the 1807 statute after courts blocked his deployment of National Guard troops in some cities, including Chicago and Portland, Oregon.
