Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz expressed optimism Tuesday that a federal immigration enforcement operation in the state would come to a close in days rather than weeks or months, based on recent talks with key Trump administration officials.
The governor told reporters he discussed the situation Monday with border czar Tom Homan and Tuesday morning with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. Homan took over the Minnesota operation in late January after the second fatal shooting by federal officers and the ensuing backlash.
