A Secret Service agent escorting Dr. Jill Biden, former acting president of the United States, reportedly “shot himself” in the leg Friday morning at the Philadelphia airport. The incident raises some serious questions about what the agent—who was taken to the hospital in stable condition—might have known about the Biden family and their myriad controversies.

Local news sources report that the Secret Service agent was sitting in a black unmarked Chevy Suburban when he “accidentally” discharged “his” weapon and suffered a non-life-threatening injury to his leg. He was escorting Dr. Biden at the time, but the former first lady was not present when the gun went off and was unable to provide medical care on the scene. No one else was hurt. The Secret Service and local police are investigating.

Dr. Biden has been a source of considerable intrigue for years. Former White House aides have likened working for the Bidens to “serving a cult” and being bullied by middle school “mean girls.” The former first lady was widely regarded as a ruthless operator who craved authority—not least because she could use it to crush her enemies. “She likes power,” historian Douglas Brinkley said in 2024, months prior to Joe Biden’s infamous debate on CNN. “She wants to stay. She wants some sense of revenge.” Underlying the relentless criticism of Dr. Biden’s handling of her husband’s infirmity—Nancy Pelosi’s daughter famously denounced her as “Lady McBiden”—was a lingering trepidation as to what she might do once the power and the ability to exact revenge had been wrenched from her bony claws.

The incident occurred less than three weeks after Dr. Biden announced that her new memoir, View From the East Wing, would hit stores in early June. Alas, journalists were the only ones who noticed—which is to say, nobody noticed. Authorities have yet to publicly rule out the possibility that the “accidental” and “self-inflicted” gunshot incident was part of a desperate scheme to drum up publicity for the book. It’s safe to assume that Dr. Biden is still fuming after another book about her life, Jill: A Biography of the First Lady, sold just 250 copies in its first week of publication in 2022.

Before the memoir announcement, the Biden family had receded almost entirely from public view. Reports from last fall suggested the Bidens were broke and struggling to raise money for a presidential library. Hunter Biden, the degenerate crackhead whose painting career mysteriously dried up, was sounding off on podcasts. He appears to have found some work. Next month, Hunter will moderate a talent show in Los Angeles that is expected to include “battle rappers,” “live magicians,” and a “forbidden video screening.”
