Top White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said that an Aug. 29 court ruling that struck down most of President Donald Trump’s tariffs would cause negative economic consequences, but said he’s “very optimistic” that the Supreme Court will overturn the order.
In a 7–4 decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled that Trump’s reciprocal tariffs that he unveiled in April are mostly illegal.
