The former president’s daughter-in-law says if she is chosen to co-chair the Republican National Committee, she will focus on three key initiatives.
Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, has formally launched her bid to become the co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC).
“This election is bigger than just us,” Ms. Trump said in her Feb. 28 candidacy letter, which was provided to The Epoch Times. “It’s about my children (Luke and Carolina), your children, and the generations to come. We need to save this country for all of them.”
Despite having the former president’s endorsement, Ms. Trump said she would work on “earning” people’s votes for the post.
She explained that she would focus on three key initiatives “to help save America from another four disastrous years of [President Joe] Biden and return President Trump to the White House.”
She said her first goal is to “build and activate the most effective battleground state election integrity program Republicans have ever had.”
Ms. Trump said lawyers would be available and volunteers would be “at the polls when it matters.”
“We will deliver an election integrity program that utilizes legal strategy and operational excellence to make sure that elections are secure,” she declared.
Secondly, Ms. Trump said, “We will do a deep dive through all of the RNC’s existing contracts and vendor agreements, identifying what’s useful and what isn’t to taking back the White House.”
She said this step is necessary to ensure that “the RNC’s money is being spent at maximum value.” Ms. Trump said it is essential to “secure the best prices for the best services” and eliminate wasteful expenditures on anything “that doesn’t go directly to winning elections.”
Ms. Trump said her third goal is to focus on “the fundamental mechanics of winning elections to ensure that we triumph in close races.”
“Our sole focus will be on the blocking and tackling what it takes to get voters to the polls, stop Democrats from undermining elections, and engage with low-propensity voters in a meaningful way,” she said. “If we don’t win, nothing else matters,” she added.
Ms. Trump said she was proud to receive President Trump’s endorsement and embraces the importance of the co-chair’s role.
She said time is short between now and the Nov. 5 general election and, in the interim, it’s vital for Republicans “to unite and do everything we possibly can to re-elect President Donald Trump and fire Joe Biden.”
