Trump Has 3-Point Lead Over Biden in Michigan: Poll

Biden was found to be giving away 12 percent of his votes to the Republican candidate.

Former President Donald Trump has an advantage over President Joe Biden in Michigan for the 2024 elections, with a sizable portion of Biden supporters shifting their votes to the GOP candidate, according to a latest poll.

“Former President Donald Trump (47 percent) has a narrow three percent lead over President Joe Biden (44 percent) in a trial ballot question for President in 2024,” said a Mitchell-MIRS poll released Friday. “Trump has done a much better job of solidifying his base where he is getting 90 percent of the Republican vote with only 2 percent going to Biden. Biden on the other hand is only getting 84 percent of his base and more importantly, he is faced with the embarrassing situation of giving away 12 percent of his vote to former President Trump.”

The poll found a “huge gender gap” between the two candidates. Among women, President Biden has an 11 percent lead while among men, President Trump has a 17 percent lead.

In terms of age group, President Trump has a “huge” lead among 18- to 44-year-olds and a “very strong” lead among 45- to 64-year-olds. Racially, Trump has a lead with white voters but trails among African Americans. Regarding voters who are neither white nor African Americans, he leads by 33 percent.

“The big question for both Democrats and Republicans is whether African Americans and younger voters who are flirting with the Republican Party will continue to do so as the election grows closer,” said Steve Mitchell, president of Mitchell Research.

“Even if they do not, the huge 10 percent enthusiasm gap favoring Republicans might be enough to push Trump over the goal line in November.”

Other polls have pointed to President Trump having an edge in the Michigan presidential elections.

A recent CNN poll found that President Trump had 50 percent support in the state—an eight percentage point lead over President Biden with 42 percent support.

President Biden was found to be trailing President Trump by significant margins when it came to young voters and Independents.

In a recent interview with Breitbart, Trump-endorsed Senate candidate Mike Rogers attributed the voter shift from Democrat to Republican in Michigan to President Biden’s policies.

“The most expensive vehicle now to operate in the state of Michigan and 2024 is your grocery cart,” he said, adding that there has been an increase of $1,000 under the Biden administration in the prices of goods, “from your bread and your eggs and your cheese.”

“When you look at the southern border, crime has come to Michigan. There is no southern border. We’re on the border of Canada, and our problems are coming from the southern border. We have criminal cartel gangs operating in Michigan from Chile, doing these really high-end sophisticated burglaries using jamming gear.”

Trump–Biden Race

President Trump is tied with President Biden at the national level, according to a March 18 poll by Morning Consult. Both candidates had 43 percent support of likely voters of the 2024 presidential race. However, among Independents, President Trump had a 5 percentage point lead over his rival.

While 89 percent of 2020 Trump voters support the GOP nominee in the upcoming elections, only 83 percent of 2020 Biden voters extend the same support for the Democrat candidate.

“For the seventh successive week, Trump’s net favorability rating among all voters is higher than Biden’s, though both candidates remain underwater. Biden’s net favorability rating has bested Trump’s just once since late September, in mid-January,” the poll stated.

American voters are doubtful about President Biden’s mental fitness for a second term. A recent poll by the Harvard Center for American Political Studies found that 57 percent of voters had doubts about President Biden’s mental fitness. In addition, 63 percent said he was too old for the job.
As polls show President Trump in a favorable position for the upcoming elections, Democrat donors are funding a $50 million campaign against the former President.

This month, the Republican Accountability PAC announced the campaign launch in six states—Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

“The campaign features one- and two-time Trump voters from across the country—including swing states—who walked away due to January 6, his 91 felony counts, Ukraine, and other issues,” said a press release from Republican Voters Against Trump.

“Their voices will be elevated using a surround-sound approach, deploying ads on television, streaming, radio, billboards, and digital media in critical swing states.”

The majority of Americans believe there is a Democrat conspiracy against President Trump in the context of the several legal cases filed against him.

A recent poll by McLaughlin & Associates asked: “President Trump has been indicted on a total of 91 counts by supporters of Joe Biden and his Justice Department. If convicted of these charges, do you think that Joe Biden wants to stop President Trump from winning the election by putting him in jail?”

Fifty-six percent of voters replied “yes,” with only 30 percent saying “no.”
