Trump Set to Hold First Wisconsin Campaign Rally of 2024 on April 2

President Trump is leading President Biden in Wisconsin by 0.8 percentage points in the average of opinion polls.

Former President Donald Trump will travel to the battleground state of Wisconsin on April 2, where he is scheduled to address supporters at a rally in Green Bay.

President Trump is scheduled to speak at 5 p.m. local time at the Hyatt Regency Green Bay hotel, his campaign announced on March 26. It will be the former president’s first campaign rally in Wisconsin this year.

The rally will come on the same day as the state’s presidential primary. Voting results of the primary will largely be symbolic since President Joe Biden and President Trump have both won enough delegates to clinch their party nominations in the 2024 White House race.
The Green Bay event will be the second rally President Trump has attended in recent weeks. On March 16, the former president took part in a rally in Vandalia, Ohio, to drum up support for GOP Senate candidate Bernie Moreno. Days later, Mr. Moreno won the Ohio Republican Senate primary and will face off against incumbent Democrat Sen. Sherrod Brown in November.
In 2020, President Biden defeated President Trump in Wisconsin by about 20,000 votes. Four years earlier, President Trump defeated former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton in the Badger State by about 22,000 votes.

Three House Republicans from Wisconsin—Reps. Tom Tiffany, Scott Fitzgerald, and Derrick Van Orden—have endorsed President Trump for the 2024 race. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis), the only Republican senator from Wisconsin, has yet to endorse the former president.

President Trump is leading President Biden in Wisconsin by 0.8 percentage points in the RealClearPolitics average of opinion polls.
According to a recent survey of Wisconsin voters by Emerson College Polling and The Hill, 46 percent supported President Trump while 43 percent supported President Biden, with 11 percent undecided.
“Independent voters in Wisconsin break for Biden 42% to 37%, with 21% undecided,” Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, said in a statement about the survey results. “The race tightens among independents when undecideds are pushed: 51% overall support Biden, 49% Trump.”

The economy was the most important issue for 35 percent of Wisconsin voters, followed by healthcare (11 percent), immigration (10 percent), and threats to democracy (10 percent).

Separately, President Trump took to his Truth Social account on Tuesday, to announce his support for Florida state Sen. Joe Gruters for a statewide office in 2026, should he decide to run.

“I am hearing that America First Patriot Joe Gruters is considering launching his Campaign for Chief Financial Officer of the Great State of Florida,” President Trump wrote.

“Joe was on the ‘Trump Train’ before it even left the station and, if he decides to run, he will have my Complete and Total Endorsement. As a State Senator and Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, Joe has done more than anyone to help turn Florida RED, and elect Republicans across the State,” President Trump continued.

“A decorated CPA, Joe is a ‘ROCKSTAR,’ who will work hard to Grow our Economy, Stop Illegal Immigration, Strongly Support Law Enforcement, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment,” President Trump added. “RUN JOE, RUN! This is an Endorsement I would love to make.”

“President Trump is the ‘Rockstar,’ Mr. Gruters wrote. “I am extremely thankful for his support! Look forward to helping him win back the White House!”

Mr. Gruters served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2018. He became the state’s senator after winning a 2018 special election, and he cannot run for re-election for his Senate seat in 2026 due to term limits.

In a separate Truth Social post, President Trump thanked the incumbent Florida’s Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis for having done “a terrific job.” Mr. Patronis, a former Florida House member, cannot seek re-election to his current post in 2026 due to term limits.
