The vice presidential candidate was not hurt.
Multiple vehicles in the motorcade of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz crashed on Sept. 2.
The incident unfolded at 12:57 p.m. local as the motorcade was traveling in Milwaukee.
Walz, the vice president candidate and running mate to Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris, was not hurt.
Two people were taken to a nearby hospital, press pool reporters said.
One of the injured was a staffer riding in the motorcade’s press van. Members of the press were thrown forward as the van slammed into the vehicle in front of them, and was struck by the vehicle behind them.
Photographs from the scene showed one van’s front damaged and another van’s back door dented.
The vehicle transporting Walz was not damaged and kept traveling, reporters said.
Walz was at the Minnesota State Fair on Sunday. He was scheduled to speak to union officials in Milwaukee on the afternoon of Labor Day.
This is a developing story that will be updated.
