Governor DeSantis announces funding for Hurricane Ian victims – FOX 4 News Fort Myers WFTX

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — Governor Ron DeSantis is in Punta Gorda on Monday to announce funding for Hurricane Ian victims.

The state is providing up to $25 million through state funds to help with building materials to help verified nonprofit organizations to restore damaged homes to liveable conditions for people impacted by the storm.

$57 million was raised for the Florida Disaster Fund.

More than $35.2 million from that program is now going to help support the state’s home repair program and to continue to assist those with unmet needs through the Florida Disaster Relief Fund.

He was joined by First Lady Casey DeSantis and Division of Emergency Management Director Kevin Guthrie.

The press conference was held at the American Legion Post #103 at 2101 Taylor Road at the Team Rubicon staging area.
