The Crisis at Our Southern Border is a War Zone
In a searing interview with Tucker Carlson, former ICE Director Tom Homan offered a gut-wrenching look into the horrors of human trafficking and child exploitation enabled by America’s porous southern border. His recounting of tragic moments on the job underscores why he accepted President Trump’s call to serve as “Border Czar.”
Carlson set the stage: “300,000 missing children, over half a million trafficked into this country. The bureaucracy is so complex and always wins. Why would you take this job?”
Homan’s response? The atrocities he’s witnessed leave him no choice.
A Five-Year-Old’s Plea to Live
Homan recounted one of the most harrowing moments of his career. Standing before a trailer packed with dead migrants, he saw a five-year-old boy who had suffocated, his father’s lifeless body shielding him in vain.
“This little boy begged his dad not to let him die,” Homan said, his voice breaking. “He wanted to see his mom.” The story is devastating and one of thousands that haunt him.

The Cartel’s Reign of Terror
Homan also described interviewing young girls who were repeatedly raped by cartel members. “A nine-year-old girl, gang-raped by grown men—she’ll never be the same,” Homan said. “The light was gone from her eyes.”
These brutalities are the direct result of a failed border policy that emboldens cartels.
Homan’s Warning Came True
Homan warned Fox News viewers when Biden took office: “If we lose the border, child trafficking will skyrocket. Migrant and American deaths will skyrocket.” And they did.
Under Biden’s watch, fentanyl deaths have surged, human smuggling networks thrive, and migrant deaths are at historic highs. Homan slammed Biden and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for dismantling Trump’s successful policies, calling their leadership “corrupt and complicit.”
“Why I Said Yes to Trump”
When President Trump asked Homan to step out of retirement to fix the border crisis, he couldn’t refuse. “How do you say no?” Homan said. “You complain for years, and then someone asks you to solve it.”
Homan’s plan includes:
- Reinstating the Remain in Mexico policy.
- Completing the border wall.
- Aggressively deporting illegal immigrants.
- Targeting cartel profits through strategic enforcement.
Carlson’s Stark Question: Who’s Killed More Americans?
Carlson raised a provocative question during the interview: “Which government has killed more Americans—Mexico or Iran?” The answer, Homan suggested, is clear. Cartels, aided by Mexico’s government, have caused unparalleled destruction in American communities through drug trafficking and human smuggling.
Homan’s Mission Is Personal
For Homan, this isn’t just a job—it’s a moral crusade. “I’ve seen too much suffering,” he said. “We need to put Americans first, secure our border, and stop these atrocities.”
