In a scathing exposĂ© published in the New York Post, Rep. Josh Brecheen (R-OK), chairman of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Investigations, sounded the alarm on what he calls a âlawless partnershipâ between far-left non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the Biden-Harris administration. Brecheen alleges that these groups helped fuelâand profit fromâthe worst border crisis in U.S. history.
âWhen violent riots erupted across Los Angeles in defiance of President Trumpâs efforts to enforce federal immigration law, the uprising was not as spontaneous as open-borders politicians would have you believe,â Brecheen wrote. He cited groups like CHIRLA, which received nearly $34 million in California state grants and $450,000 from Bidenâs Department of Homeland Security, as key players in organizing and facilitating illegal immigration and street-level resistance to federal enforcement.
The op-ed comes ahead of a congressional hearing titled âAn Inside Job: How NGOs Facilitated the Biden Border Crisis.â The hearing features witnesses like Mike Howell, Ali Hopper, and Julio Rosas, who will testify on how taxpayer-funded NGOs âhelp incentivize cartel human smuggling across our bordersâ and participate in âthe final mileâ of illegal entry.
Brecheenâs committee has already opened investigations into over 200 NGOs. âThe near-total lack of accountability for how the taxpayer dollars given to NGOs were spent under the Biden-Harris administration is unacceptable,â he wrote.
While President Trump works to re-secure the border, Brecheen warns Americans must remain vigilant. âCongress must ensure the NGOs and far-left officials that benefited from and contributed to the worst border crisis in American history are held accountable.â

Rep. Brecheen for the New York Post: The NGOs Who Fueled the Border Crisis Must Be Held Accountable |
WASHINGTON D.C. ââ This week, Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Accountability Chairman Josh Brecheen (R-OK) penned an op-ed for the New York Post, detailing how non-governmental organizations (NGOs) helped facilitate and benefited from the historic Biden-Harris border crisis, as well as how far-left NGOs are still working to help inadmissible aliens undermine federal immigration law under the Trump administration.
Tune in now for a hearing entitled, âAn Inside Job: How NGOs Facilitated the Biden Border Crisis.â When violent riots erupted across Los Angeles in defiance of President Trumpâs efforts to enforce federal immigration law, the uprising was not as spontaneous as open-borders politicians would have you believe. But this pattern of incentivizing lawless behavior at taxpayersâ expense isnât an isolated case â it is an example of the extensive partnership of open-borders activists and their allies in the Biden-Harris administration, and Americans are still paying the cost. On Wednesday, my Committee will examine this pattern and its impacts in a hearing featuring testimony from Mike Howell of the Oversight Project, human trafficking expert Ali Hopper, and veteran border and riot correspondent Julio Rosas. These groups received billions of taxpayer dollars from DHS and the Department of Health and Human Services to provide all manner of services to illegal aliens once they were released from U.S. Customs and Border Protection or ICE custody including legal services, lodging, and transportation to the destination of their choice. The evidence of this NGO industrial complex is incontrovertible. While the Trump administration has successfully re-secured our borders and is working to put the abuse of taxpayer dollars under the Biden-Harris administration behind us, a lot of damage has already been done â and the money has already been spent. |
