In a recent conversation with Real America’s Voice correspondent, Ben Bergquam, Kari Lake, a staunch advocate for border security and a candidate for the U.S. Senate, didn’t hold back her views on what she calls the urgent need for “real, uncompromised leadership” in Arizona. The discussion tackled issues of immigration, the role of Mexican drug cartels, and the dire consequences of weak border policies. Lake emphasized the necessity of electing leaders who genuinely prioritize the state’s safety and the well-being of American families.
Lake warned about the dangers of having what she described as a “cartel senator” in Arizona. “America doesn’t need another politician who’s soft on border security, who’s willing to turn a blind eye while cartels thrive on the other side of our border,” she asserted. She believes some politicians have contributed to Arizona’s escalating problems by being lenient or neglecting to address the threats cartels pose.
She spoke passionately about how these cartels have already created a state of fear and instability across Arizona, which she attributes to an “open-door” policy on the southern border. “It’s terrifying,” Lake said, “to think of the children and families who live in constant fear because cartels practically run the border.” Her goal, she explained, is to bring the focus back to protecting American citizens, not appeasing those who exploit the lack of secure borders.
Lake also criticized what she sees as an elitist attitude among politicians, whom she feels are more concerned with maintaining their political alliances than with addressing the people’s needs. “This isn’t about some abstract policy debate. This is about real people, real families. Arizona deserves better than a cartel-friendly politician,” she said firmly.
Bergquam, nodding in agreement, added that Lake’s determination to call out these issues publicly sets her apart from other candidates. “We need leaders like Kari Lake who aren’t afraid to name the problem,” he said, pointing to her willingness to confront what others shy away from.
Lake closed by reiterating her commitment to securing the border and putting Arizona’s citizens first. “Our people deserve a voice in Washington that speaks for them—not for the cartels. It’s time to elect leaders who stand against the tide of crime and corruption,” she concluded.
Her clear message to voters is that electing a senator who will challenge the status quo on border security is crucial. With a conviction resonating through every word, Lake’s remarks aimed to leave no doubt: Arizona has a choice, and that choice could mean a secure future or more of the same.
